Privacy Notice.
This notice explains what personal information clip.inc collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers our website, sign-up and launch forms and dashboards, and applies to brands, clippers and visitors.
1 Who we are
clip.inc is operated by Sound, LLC, the company behind sound.me. Sound, LLC is the controller of the personal information described here. clip.inc and sound.me share some systems, including payouts, fraud checks and account bans. That means information may be combined across the two services for those purposes (see section 3).

2 What we collect
From brands
- Contact and account details: name, email, company or artist name, role, and sign-in details.
- Campaign details: campaign name, brief, source links and files you upload, sound links, platforms, dates, budget and rate.
- Payment details: card payments are handled directly by our payment provider (Stripe). We don't receive or store your full card number. We keep a record of payments, receipts and billing contacts.
From clippers
- Account details: name, email, date of birth (to confirm you're 18 or older), country, gender if you choose to share it, referral code, and the TikTok, Instagram or YouTube accounts you connect.
- Clip and performance data: links to your clips, and their views, likes, comments and shares. We collect these from the platforms, including through their APIs and public pages, for the time we need to verify and pay them.
- Payout and tax details: your PayPal email or other payout account, and tax forms where required. We don't get access to your bank or PayPal login.
- Fraud-prevention signals: device identifiers, IP address, phone number, payout account and similar signals, so we can enforce "one person, one account" and detect fake views.
From everyone
- Messages you send us, and anything you choose to include.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and referring page or campaign (UTM) tags, collected automatically when you use the site.
3 How we use it

4 Automated decisions
We use automated systems to decide which views are verified and to flag activity that looks like fake views or duplicate accounts. The signals include engagement that doesn't match an account's normal pattern, sudden unexplained spikes in views, and accounts sharing a device, phone number or payout account. These decisions affect what clippers are paid and can lead to a clip being excluded or an account being restricted. A person reviews account bans. You can ask us to explain a decision, or have a person review it, by emailing hello@sound.me.
7 How long we keep it
We keep personal information while your account is open and for as long as needed for the purposes above. After that:
- payment, payout and tax records for as long as tax and accounting law requires (usually 7 years);
- fraud and ban records for as long as needed to stop banned people returning; and
- everything else is deleted or anonymized when it's no longer needed, or when you ask us to delete it, unless we must keep it by law.
8 Security & international transfers
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls and limited staff access, to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure.
We're based in the United States and process information there and wherever our service providers operate. When we transfer personal information from the EU, UK or other regions with transfer rules, we use approved safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
9 Your rights
Depending on where you live, including California and other US states, the EU and UK, Canada and Brazil, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct information that's wrong;
- have your information deleted;
- move your information to another service;
- object to or restrict certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
- opt out of marketing, and of "sale" or "sharing" as defined by US state laws;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already done; and
- not be treated differently for using these rights.
To use any of these rights, email hello@sound.me from the address on your account. We'll verify your identity before acting, and may ask for more details. An authorized agent can make a request for you with signed permission. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
10 Children
clip.inc is only for people aged 18 or older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If we learn we have, we'll delete it and close the account. If you think a minor is using clip.inc, please tell us.
11 Changes to this notice
We may update this notice. We'll post the new version here with a new date. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we'll tell you by email or in the Services before it takes effect, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
